February 24, 1939 - August 4, 1997

On Monday, August 4, 1997, the Lord suddenly called away His faithful servant LILLIAN CHUBATY of Roseau River, Manitoba after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.

Lillian passed away at the Concordia Hospital.  She was born on February 24, 1939 and was 58 years old.

Only days before, many people who were attending the Ukr. Baptist Conference in Winnipeg had come to visit Lillian and to pray with her and to wish her well, but God saw that it was time for her to come home.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband John and daughter Angela of Roseau River; son Mark and Sandra Chubaty with grandsons, Kenneth, Steven and Eric of Winnipeg; one brother Peter Melnychuk of Roseau River and many relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her father William, her mother Doris and by her brother Nick.

Lil accepted the Lord in 1963 and was active in her home church in Roseau River.  She loved teaching Sunday School and was active in her local Christian Women's Club.

A pre-funeral service was held on Friday August 8 at the Klassen Funeral Home in Winnipeg and funeral services were held on Saturday, August 9 at the Stuartburn Gospel Church in Stuartburn, Man.  The services were attended my many family members and friends who were fond of Lillian and will always remember her for her gentle spirit and wonderful hospitality.  Rev. John Tkachuk and Rev. Mark Funk officiated at both services.

The Chubaty family are grateful to the many family and friends who visited her, prayed for her and offered their support during this sad time.
